Though a native of Philadelphia, Michelle Murray attended and graduated from the University of Hawaii before heading back to her home city for work. From 1994 until 1999, she worked diligently as both a Producer and Executive Producer for KYW—a radio station licensed to serve in Philadelphia. KYW is one of the oldest radio stations in America, and Michelle built upon her expertise tirelessly with the station before moving to New York City in 1999.

From 1999 until 2003, Michelle Murray lived and worked in New York City with several different networks. She was the Senior Producer for Fox News TV for one year, then moved on and worked for WCBS as the Senior Manager of News and Specials and the Assistant News Director for three years.  While at WCBS, she served as the channel’s acting news director while the network covered the 9/11 tragedy. The coverage aired nationally on CBS affiliated networks and earned an Edward R. Murrow Award—the first of many Michelle would earn for networks she worked for.

The Edward R. Murrow Award recognizes both local and national news stations for coverage following the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrating technical expertise and prowess and showing the importance and impact of journalism. That Michelle Murray earned the networks she worked for Edward R. Murrow Awards is a high honor reflecting on her journalistic vision and integrity in the work she does.

After leaving New York City, Michelle Murray was the News Director for NBC Sports Chicago, then returned to New York City as the News Director for SportsNet New York. While working for SportsNet New York, Michelle also started her long tenure with CSN Philadelphia. She also oversaw programs and specials for pre and post-game news.

As a veteran news, sports, and entertainment programming executive, Michelle Murray has demonstrated competence and responsibility in her field over the past few decades. Her leadership skills are unmatched, and combining her professionalism with her experience with several news networks allowed her to lead CSN Philadelphia to earn not one but six Edward R. Murrow Awards. Michelle is proud of the work she has accomplished over the years, dedicating herself to each network she worked with to ensure they succeeded in their goals and could move forward successfully.

In 2017, Michelle Murray was promoted from Vice President, News Programming to Vice President of Content and Programming for CSN Philadelphia.
